Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton did not have a secret wedding Nevada, despite a late and wrong report based on claims that Gossip Cop already debunked. We can once again set the record straight. The couple hasn’t gotten married.

According to the National Enquirer, the couple of three years eloped in late October by flying to Reno, getting a marriage license and having a a private ceremony in their hotel room. The magazine says that Shelton was at first hesitant to settle down, but his “wedding-crazy” girlfriend became “really adamant” they tie the knot, so he agreed.

“Blake was scared of a lot of things, but mainly being a three-time loser in marriage,” an alleged insider tells the magazine. “He said all the right things to Gwen, but it came to the point where she said, ‘It’s now or never, baby.’” The supposed source goes on to say that the thought of losing Stefani “scared him more than the thought of getting married for the third time.”

There’s no truth to the Enquirer’s bogus premise, which is recycled from a recent story by its sister outlet, the Globe. We called out the magazine last month for wrongly reporting that Shelton and Stefani got married in a Reno hotel room. As Gossip Cop noted at the time, the outlet didn’t bother to mention the name of the hotel where the couple supposedly exchanged vows. There’s also no record of the two having gotten a marriage license in Nevada. That’s because the couple’s didn’t get married.

In fact, Stefani appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday, during which she denied even being engaged to her boyfriend. The singer repeatedly said, “No we’re not,” when the talk show host asked if she and Shelton were engaged. After DeGeneres continued to humorously press the issue, Stefani clearly stated, “We’re not engaged, and we’re not married. And he’s my boyfriend still.”

It’s worth noting, the Enquirer continuously churns out phony articles about the music superstars, with little concern for consistency. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid in October for publishing a cover story alleging that Shelton and Stefani had split after constant fighting and months apart. This latest article about their secret wedding makes no mention of their nasty breakup. Not only are most of the outlet’s scenarios totally inaccurate, they’re also contradictory. The magazine clearly has trouble keeping track of its false claims.
